A Tikkun Olam Project: Week of Service
August 15-20, 2010
For teams of post b’nai mitzvah teens and their parents
who wish to provide service work to a local community.
Join Us:
Post b’nai mitzvah teens and their parent(s) will spend a week working together to make a
difference by connecting to local communities and providing much needed support and building
through:
- A variety of tikkun olam (social action) community service projects such as building, home rehab and demolition, light carpentry, and more.
- Working side by side with one another, parents will model the caring and activist values
they hold and teens will experience the power of their potential to make a difference in
the larger world.
- Reaching for a challenge that is beyond your comfort zone and widens your experience.
- Learning from and about the communities we serve, with time for reflection, journaling,
and Jewish values discussions.
- Creating community at Camp JRF while branching out and serving other communities.
