For
youngsters entering third or fourth grade who want to
try the camp experience for the first time, our 12-day
mini-camp,
Nitzanim, is perfect.
This program includes all the fun, excitement, games,
learning, exploration, and friendships of camp - just
within a shorter time period. These young campers are
fully included in the camp program and enjoy the community
and friendships built at Camp JRF, all in a safe and
fun environment that allows them to bloom into full-fledged
campers next summer.
Entering fourth, fifth,
and sixth graders plant their roots in the camp community
as members of
Ilanot. Meaning
"trees," Ilanot is our basic camp program.
These campers take part in all the fun that Camp JRF
has to offer: swimming, drama, the ropes course, singing,
boating, dancing, and playing. They also dig deep into
our traditions as they explore the Values of Spiritual
Peoplehood and discover how they can live as part of
a 24-hour-a-day Jewish community. Ilanot campers are
the backbone of camp, and their experiences help them
- and all of us - grow in so many ways.
Campers entering seventh
and eighth grades are members of
Nehalim,
"rivers." These youngsters
wind their way into every part of the camp program and
sustain all of us with their excitement and energy.
Taking part in the same sports, arts, activities, prayer,
and learning as our younger campers, Nehalim provides
an opportunity to dive more deeply into discussions,
programs, and experiences. These campers engage fully
with the richness of Jewish civilizations and learn
what it means to be part of a vibrant and constantly
changing Jewish community.
For entering high school
freshmen and sophomores, Harim,
"mountains," provides an opportunity for campers
to challenge themselves and others to strive to reach
their goals. In addition to the innovative
programming and incredible activities our campers expect
from Camp JRF, these teens also participate in a multi-day
adventure, exploration, and tikkun olam trip.
Leaving camp to discover the beauty of the surrounding
areas and to have an impact on the lives of those in
need in the community, these campers learn that they
are at once a small part of the world and at the same
time able to make a difference in someone else's entire
world.
Hadraha, our leadership training
program, will be open to entering high school juniors
and seniors. Taking place during the second session
only (July 25 - August 12), this program will provide
teens with the opportunity to explore the meaning of
leadership, hone their skills, and begin to make the
transition from camper to counselor. With a small group
of participants and a highly experienced staff, Hadraha
proves to be a defining experience for all.
Teens entering eleventh and twelfth
grades will join No'ar Hadash, the JRF Youth Movement,
on an amazing six-week adventure in Israel. Click
